The Shale boots are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of drilling work. The outsole is direct attached to bond it to the upper and resist breaking down. Rocky also triple-stitched the boot in areas that get a lot of wear.
The sole is has a TPU skin and resists oils and slips, giving you confident footing in less-than-ideal conditions.
This is a waterproof boot that you know will keep your feet dry because it's made with Rocky Waterproof construction that's guaranteed.
You get a little extra height with this men's boot at eight inches, instead of the common six-inch boot. It's made of oiled full-grain leather for quality and durability. The "never-cut" hooks won't wear through your laces even after repeated daily use.
While it's nice that your feet will stay dry and your boot will last, Rocky also wanted to make this a comfortable work boot. Afterall, you'll be spending the majority of your day with this men's work boot. That's why inside there's a removable Terra Suspension insole for support and cushioning. There's also a nylon shank for arch support and a moisture-wicking lining to fight sweat.
