Additional Information

If you're not prepared, a run in with any wild animal has the potential to turn ugly, especially with snakes. The Rocky ProLight Waterproof Snakeproof Hunting Boot will ensure your personal safety. They protect against most North American snakes; including rattlesnakes, copperheads, and coral snakes.

To keep your feet, ankles, and lower legs safe, these hunting boots are designed with sixteen inches of snakeproof protection. Plus, they keep your feet dry in any condition. A full-grain leather outlines the Mossy Oak camouflage nylon, a material reinforces the Guaranteed Rocky® Waterproof construction.

The ProLight BioMech outsole provides traction and stability on uneven terrain, and the PU/Rubber outsole adds a second layer of defense against wet feet.

Remain safe and dry in these snake proof boots.

    • Guaranteed Rocky® Waterproof construction

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyday comfort and peace of mind to boot! Ready to order my third pair! I tried 6 other brands/styles before finding these Rocky wonders! The others didn't work for me because of my high arches! I wear a W 7 to 7 1/2 (narrow with high arch) - the 6.5M work for me. Love these boots and I wear them every day during snake season. Yes, they can be a bit stiff at the ankle in the beginning; I get the boot to break at a comfy spot and wrap a short ace-type bandage around that area for a couple of days and it breaks them in perfectly. I have gotten more than three years of use out of each pair and I really abuse them. Truly as comfortable as high-quality hikers. I need to work during snake season and these boots allow me to do so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged Comfortable Boot I bought this boot 3 weeks ago and wear them every day, hiking around 5 miles a day. These boots have a very comfortable foot feel and leave my feet feeling good even after a long day of hiking. They are extremely hot in the summer days here in Southern New Mexico but that's a price i'm willing to pay for the defense. The only complaint i have is the stiffness they exhibit around the ankles. They were very uncomfortable to break in and bruised my ankle a little. They have broken in well though (took about 5 days) and now only have discomfort about 5% of the time

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Every Penny The older I get the less I care about how much shoes cost as long as they are comfortable and serve the purpose they were intended for. I bought these boots 3 years ago and still enjoy wearing them. I bought these boots to bow hunt in the early fall months when the snakes are still out. They fit like a glove when I first tried them on. They were a little bit stiff from the ankle and above but they broke in just fine. They are warm during the hot months but not at all unbearable. I would recommend these to anyone and I would buy another pair. I own multiple different kinds of Rocky boots and I have been satisfied with them all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Boots Ever I bought these boots about 4 years ago when I was going on a hunting trip to Africa and was worried about snakes. I got them just before my trip and was concerned about the break in period and did not want sore feet to spoil my trip. There was no break in period. These boots were excellent. We did a lot of walking and stalking in Africa and over some very terrain. I loved the firmness that I received from the 16" height of the boot. Gave me a lot more stability while over this terrain, and the boots were so light. I wear them here in Canada for all my hunting. I also love the quick lace system. Saves a lot of time. These boots are going back to Africa again this year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Snake Bites Well, my first pair was actually bought in 2011 and worked construction and did a lot of hiking in them, I would give a full five stars but I had issues with how many times I was able to use them as far as waterproof usage was. Their sturdiness however is outstanding. My first pair lasted me four years of heavy "abuse" until I had to buy a new pair. I fi.d them extremely comfortable and wish other pairs would come in smaller sizes, having small feet, I can only order one kind of snake bites. But I do highly enjoy my Snake bites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Comfortable! I wish I had found these boots years ago! I have tried 2 different other brands and have been very disappointed. I have even tried snake chaps, but those were uncomfortable as well. These boots are a little more expensive than some, but well worth it. Although I am a woman and these are men's boots, the size conversion chart helped me to order the right size. They fit well, are comfortable and lightweight, and are easy to put on and take off. The first time I wore them, I had them on for over 6 hours with no discomfort and no break-in period required. This is a great pair of boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Put to The Test I got these as a birthday present a few years ago. I was moving tree stands in a swamp and walking around in the brush not really watching where I was stepping. Next thing I know, the ground beneath my foot squishes and a cottonmouth water moccasin strikes the back side of my calf. Out of terror I jumped and ran. The 4 foot moccasin was latched onto the back of my Rocky boots for three steps before it lost its grip. These boots may be a little pricey, but they paid for themselves that day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Don't judge a boot by it's cover" Whether you live in snake country or not you have to try these 16" Snake Boots as your feet, ankles, and legs will love you for them as you won't be as tired at the end of a long day. These boots provide the best protection from just below the knee down to the foot. No more twisted ankles as the overall support is much better than any of the smaller height boots. If you do take a fall or just slip your shins, calves, ankles and feet are much better protected. Great horseback boots as well as the 16 inch uppers provide more active support. Try a pair of these boots and you'll never go back to the lower height boots again. Protect your pants by wearing inside the boots and let the boots take all the abuse. When the laces wear out, replace them with nylon parachute cord and once you've "cut the cord" to length, burn the ends of the cord with a match, "only under adult supervision and light fuse and get away fast", prior to install as it will make it easier to "thread the needle". Once completed tie a knot and burn the ends again to prevent the lace from sliding out and you won't have to waste the time required to re-thread each time you take them on and off. Just give yourself enough length and the boots will go on and off with ease and you don't have to "chase the laces". Standard length works just fine so measure your old laces and go from there. Waterproof with Filson's Oil-Finish-Wax and you'll have the best waterproofing available and the boots will last longer as well. Filson's may cost a bit more than the regular water proofers but it’s well worth it as your feet will stay dry and you won't have to re-proof as often. For more insulation, just use multiple socks, over the calf and just under the knee are the best, and these boots will keep you as warm as any insulated boots. Best value on the market today and with just a little bit of care these boots will last many years. Oh ya, the "peace of mind" when walking in snake country is worth the price alone!!
