Additional Information

Rocky assembled the upper of this Core Hiker with brown full-grain leather. To guard this footwear against abrasions, rubber has been extended up onto the toe and along the heel. The padded collar is a nice feature to have because it gives the back of your legs a comfortable place to rest against. The tongue is great for blocking small bits and pieces (grass, pebbles, twigs) from getting down into the interior. Then there is the lace-up design; this allows your foot to rest securely within this Hiker and it enables you to tighten or loosen the laces so that you'll remain comfortable.

Whether it starts to rain heavily, or if you just accidently walk through a gigantic puddle of water, your feet are guaranteed to remain dry in this men's Hiker because it has been built with Rocky Waterproof construction. Your feet will also be comforted by the EVA footbed; it is lightweight and it supplies cushioning that feels great! Another perk of having this insole is that it's removable; once it wears down, you can add in more padding.

The dark-hued outsole is highly durable, it has aggressive tread that allows you to walk with ease across rough terrain and it provides resistance to slippage and oil.

For all of the outdoorsy men in need of new footwear, this Rocky Core Waterproof Hiker (#2421) is an excellent option!

Rocky Core Waterproof Hiker Work Boot is rated 3.25 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as comfortable as the Ridgetop Hiker I bought this boot only because Rocky apparently has discontinued the Ridgetop Hiker, (my favorite boot for the last 3 years) or at least does not stock 13w in it. This boot is far less comfortable than the Ridgetop hiker and after only a few weeks the lace hooks on the top half of the boot have cut the laces due to sharp edges and poor design. I replaced the insole with a airport insole and it made some difference but they are still not very comfortable. I will wear these until they wear out and move on to another boot or brand. Sorry Rocky but the Ridgetop hiker set a high standard and you missed it with the Core boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort and toughness I bought these boots in a 13wide a month ago. I am very pleased with them!! I usually tear out the seams in 6 months or less, on other boots. Rockies are very well built and lite, and don't sacrifice on quality!! Working in the Maine woods is tough work and these boots are up for the challenge!! I WILL be buying more boots in the future for fun not just work!! Thanks again!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Got the wrong style. I was trying to replace a pair of Rocky boats that I purchased earlier at a store, (Fleet Farm). By looking at pictures on line I tried to get the same ones. I didn't. I am stuck with some shoes I don't really like and don't fit good. I learned my lesson. Shoes need to be tried on before you purchase them.
