Additional Information

Built for The Unforeseen. This men's Rocky S2V provision jacket has numerous  safety features  and essentials, while completely protecting you from the weather. If you get stranded outdoors or find yourself in an emergency situation, this is the jacket you want to be wearing.

The provision jacket is made from 4-way stretch polyester that's soft, yet resists abrasions. Whether there's torrential rain or all you can see in front of you is snowflakes, this jacket keeps you dry with its superior waterproof protection. It's made with Hydro IQ (20,000/20,000 waterproof/air circulation) technology and has Durable Water Resistant (DWR) coating.

AEROTHERM® aerogel insulation in the sleeves and chest protect you against both extreme cold and heat. It works in conjunction with Loft insulation to retain heat and block the elements. It's so thin, you won't even know it's there, plus it's also waterproof and windproof.

While those features alone make a great survival jacket, it's also outfitted with an S2V Essentials Kit that contains an endless list of survival gear: eGear® LED flashlight, compass, StarFlash® ultra signal mirror, JetScream™ whistle, eGear® lightstick, SaberCut™ razor saw, eGear® emergency blanket and medical kit.

Make sure help can find you. Another great outdoor essential of this outerwear is the Recco® Advanced Rescue Technology; it releases an electronic signal that can be tracked by medical responders in an emergency. This jacket also has a snow skirt. If you find yourself in a dangerous situation, you can use its fuchsia color to signal for help. The coat also has specifically designed pockets for SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger compatibility.

The jacket hood has an adjustable brim, so it fits great whether it's resting on top of your head or you're wearing a helmet. All the zippered pockets are waterproof, giving you a great place to safely keep your gear dry. A drawcord that requires just one hand to access lets you adjust the waist of this jacket.

If you're an avid outdoor enthusiast, you must own this Rocky S2V Provision Jacket (#603610). This outerwear will revolutionize the way you experience nature; after all, it's extremely comfortable, features cutting-edge technology and is equipped with must-have safety essentials.

Rocky S2V Provision Jacket is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great do-all jacket for any Conditions Awesome all around shell and winter jacket for skiing and snowshoeing. Has been a go to for me all season including layered in heavy, wet winter storms along the Wasatch. It also breathes great for warm spring-like days on the mountain. The hood has plenty of room for a helmet and I especially appreciate the dual access chest pocket for phone/pass access on the mountain. I give it five stars for durability specially encountering backcountry hang ups and normal tree/vegetation encounters. Also, the slim fit and large pit zips makes it perfect paired a pack in the backcountry.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from just a shell.. and leaks Got it to try out aerogel insulation but insulation covers much smaller area than I thought. (Pretty much elbows only). It's a shell so otherwise doesn't have any insulation. At freezing temps, you will need serious mid layer. Worst was that during moderate rain, both shoulders leaked at the seams. And the entire surface was saturated (not beading off). I wonder if something happened to my waterproofing because it was not working well. After a full NYC winter season, I'm quite underwhelmed. Survival gadgets were cool though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket, so far. The jacket just came in the mail. Put it on with a mid-lawyer, fleece jacket and fits relatively well (not too loose, not too snug). I have wide shoulders and constantly have trouble finding jackets with enough room in the shoulders. Fortunately, the fabric stretches and gives a little bit, affording some extra mobility. Nice touch! Hopefully, this won't compromise the endurance and durability of the fabric against the elements. Sleeve length is perfect- a little bit longer, to afford mobility, when the wrist cuffs are tightened. For some reason, I hoped a jacket like this would have a longer "tail" at the rear of the waist cuff- I have a longer torso. However, it doesn't pose that significant of a problem, unless bending at the waist. There's a fuschia-colored snow-skirt inside, to prevent cold air from flowing in, but if it's too high on the waist, doesn't help much. Luckily, there are straps to secure it to your belt if needed. Pockets are plentiful, roomy, really well-placed, and aside from the zipper highlights, relatively low-profile. Still have yet to test them out with a loaded backpack to see if the toggles catch, dig, chafe or snag on the straps. The hood is roomy and if adjusted correctly, stays put on the head. All-in-all, this jacket is really something else! I love it! Add to that, it came with emergency gear, which makes it a very smart, worthwhile investment. Rocky S2V, you really outdid yourselves on this. I'll update this review, after a trip into the elements, with a loaded pack. Thanks for reading!
