Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best boot rocky has to offer This is my third pair of the same boots, I can't find a better set of boots out there. I just wish it wasn't so hard to find these in stock. Every time I go to buy them, I can't find them for the life of me. But the comfort, performance and look are steller and top knotch. I just wish they didn't wear out every year, I only wear them in the spring and fall. Granted in buffalo that's 7 months out of the year, but I burn through the soles, inner and outer, like it's my job. Maybe look into more durable inner and outer soles for the price they charge.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from very comfortable, but older design was better The previous version of this boot was great, wore it almost every day for 4 years. Works well in rain, snow, mud, black spruce swamps...Wore it for 1.5 years every day while in china, very comfortable when walking on pavement, and while doing forestry work. It isn't non-slip, so when wearing it in a shop and there is oil, it becomes very slick. Even so i like the rubber sole on this model much better than the other models. It is extremely conformable, and durable. I don't like the new design because, above the heal doesn't appear to be as durable as the old version, and for that it is docked 2 stars. I'll be buying the 8 inch boot instead of the 6 inch because of this. (although the 6inch was preferred)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as Advertised. Boots are advertised as "full grain leather," but are, in fact, nubuck. Nothing wrong with nubuck, if that is what you are looking for. I wanted full grain leather. I have never owned nubuck boots, and didn't want nubuck boots. Very disappointed when they arrived. Also, boot laces were too short at 60". Could barely tie a single knot. I like to double knot the laces on hiking boots, and have never had a problem with the many pairs I have owned. Laces should be 72" for these boots. If I had purchased these boots from any other company, I would have returned them for a refund. However, since Rocky is an Ohio company, I am willing to give these boots a chance - still not sure I am going to be happy with the nubuck finish. I did return them to exchange for a wide.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not great I have had these for a couple of weeks. As expected for this type of boot, they are a little stiff, but are breaking in nicely. The footbed is overall good and provides good stability and comfort. The laces could stand to be about 2-3 inches longer. The main issue is overall quality. These aren't made in the USA and the workmanship quality shows. The left and right boots don't fit the same and the lining in the right boot is a little bunched. Just a little disapointing for a Rocky boot. If you made these in one of your US factory it would be the high quality we expect.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sole Wears Out Too Quickly I have bought three pairs of these boots in the last three years. The boots are comfortable and water proof, but do not seem to hold up to Rocky's usual quality. The first pair I had one of the side stitches blew out. On the second pair, the heel wore down after a year, to the point were I was rolling my ankle. I thought that had to be a fluke, so I got another pair. This one has the same problem. The heel is angled now so it is actually uncomfortable to stand upright. Need to buy another pair now. Definitely will not buy this style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot I purchase this for my son, he had a pair just like them, same brand only were of camouflage material. He wanted another only in leather. He works in aquaculture and around water all day. The fit is perfect. He loves them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable I have been buying a pair of these every year for the last five years for work. They last me a year and the soles are smooth but the boot is in good shape yet. I work on concrete floors for 8 to twelve hours a day and my feet and legs feel great at the end of the day. I will buy these boots for as long as they are made. Which I hope is for ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Backpacking Boot I have been backpacking for over 25 years and have worn three other companies boots. The Rocky came to be as a Christmas gift. I was sure they would not be serious boots for backpacking. Then I started wearing them as training boots when getting ready for a big trip. The more I wore them the more I liked them. Then I started wearing them on trips. Compared to my other boots they are like putting on slippers. They are lighter than my other boots which adds up on the legs over a long hike. They are not as stiff in the uppers but I find they keep me from rolling an ankle. The sole support may be a little too soft on boulders and rocky trails, but not bad. That is the trade off for the lighter weight. Just came back from a trip in the High Sierra and found the boots have made their last trip. After many miles and trips they have come apart on the soles. I will buy a new pair and hope they are as good as my old ones. I encourage backpackers to take a look at them.
