Rocky S2V Tactical Military Boot, , large

Additional Information

The Rocky® S2V Tactical Military Boots are the ultimate combat boots. This footwear is the top choice for all military personal because they are built for quick maneuvers and fast-paced action.

The flash- and water-resistant leather is geared to protect your feet from quick flashes and rope burn. The boots also boast 1,000-Denier CORDURA® technology in the sides and panels with a PTFE coating that serves as a flame retardant.

These black boots can easily handle wet conditions thanks to the drainage vents that push water out of your boots. Wicking Dri-Lex® lining and stretch LYCRA® tongues hug your feet for a comfortable fit so you can keep on going longer.

To maximize comfort, the military boots also have triple-stitched uppers and proprietary high-walled Vibram® soles, along with a perforated Air-Port™ cushion footbed and PU midsoles. They are outfitted with an Aegis® Microbe Shield to prevent bacteria and fungus growth.

Made in the USA, the Rocky S2V Tactical Military Boots are Berry Compliant. They're eight inches in height and Uniform Compliant (AR 670-1).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Boot, tight in the beginning I recently purchased these for work (I'm a police officer), and they are a great duty boot. After 12+ hours on my feet, a few minutes sitting down was all I needed to feel rejuvenated. The reason it only got 4 stars is because when I purchased these boots, they were really tight across the top (where the tongue and leather are sewn together.) I wore them for about 3-4 days before the pain was too difficult to manage. I McGuyver'd a way to stretch the leather by stuffing a rigid round cup into the boot overnight, forcing the leather to stretch. It worked marvelously. I just wish that Rocky thought of that before I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Distance Marching Boot I bought these boots after for the 4 Days Marches in Nijmegen (aprox. 180kms in 4 days with min 23lbs ruck) as all of the issued boots I tried transferred to much impact shock and anything above 20kms felt like my feet had been beaten with a bat. This purchase is the sole reason I can still consider completing the rigorous work-up training and complete the actual marches. These 'go-fast ninja slippers' are the envy of some, and I would recommend them to anyone based on the comfort factor alone. The features are just an added benefit (triple stitching and the vents). Absolutely love them - THANKS

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slippery When Wet Purchased boots May 2014. Wear them every day at work in an automotive garage and everywhere else. These were an average boot. The laces broke 4 months in. Most of the tread had worn off in 6 months and now the heal is worn though to the inside layer a year in. They have excellent traction on any dry surface. They aren’t bad on wet asphalt. But if you transition from wet asphalt to anything else like concrete or tile you will immediately lose your footing. You will never maintain your footing walking on wet rocks. These are marketed as a military boot so the quick sole wear may be attributed to the oil environment they were sometimes subjected to. However the total lack of wet traction should rule these out for anything but desert military.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good boots I have had several pairs of these boots now. I have taken on some of the most rugged terrain in south east queensland, Australia, in my job as a tree poisoner, i have to go up and down some steep places. From new, the boots have all been comfortable, with no break in period. I never do anything to look after the boots, they are work boots for me, pure and simple, so i don't care what they look like, i just wear them, until they die. They dry quickly, when they get wet. They don't cook my feet either, in the extremely hot days of summer, as i like to wear thick socks. The sole is excellent, and provides good grip, until worn out. The only one complaint with these boots is the lace eyes, I have to replace laces quite regularly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Three month review Took nearly a month and a half to get themonce I found a place that sold this model (Galls). Very well built and comfortable. Spend all day on my feet in Texas and these are fairly breathable. I over probate and have the tendency to roll my ankles and these have helped me with that as my heel sits inside the sole instead of on top. So far so good! Considering a tan pair strictly for hunting boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rugged I've only had these boots for a week, so my perceptions of them are limited. These boots are well made and seem extremely durable! They are taking a little more time to break in but I believe it's due to the fact that these are a true work boot and I'm so used to wearing the Rocky CT4 PT boot! So far these boots have held up to anything I have put them through and even though I work in a very hot climate (and we have to wear black boots) the boots don't get overly hot! If you're looking for a boot that needs to be rugged, look no further.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Concept. Execution Could Be Better I like the idea of the S2V Boots. The boots are very stable, and they are more of an athletic fit, but not so much that these boots get torn up during duty use. The two issues that I have with these boots, are the fit and the treatment of the leather. First, the upper half of the boot is extremely loose fitting. So much so that I can not cinch the laces tight enough. The eyelets make contact with one another before the boots get tight. I realize every person has a different shaped foot, and some people may not have this issue. However, I have several boots from Meindle, Haix, and Lowa, and none of these European brands have this issue. Having worked for a company that manufacture footwear, I suspect that Rocky chose not to use an anatomical last when they constructed these boots. I have a pair of Oakley boots that have the same problem. Secondly, these boots are treated with some kind of waterproofer which makes them impossible to shine. I suspect this was done to keep the leather from rotting when exposed to water, however for a duty boot, this is a little much. I can polish these boots in the morning, and by the end of my shift, all of the polish has wiped off. I served in the Marine Corps, so I know how to polish boots, but nothing I've tried has kept a polish on these boots longer than a day. I also believe that this treatment reduces some of the breathability of these boots. I have a few pairs of Gore-Tex boots, and they seem to breathe better than these boots, which are unlined.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Boot ever worn! I had my old man ship these to me while I was in Afghanistan, was with 3rd Battalion 6th Marines and I wore them into the ground they were perfect. I really did not have a break in time but they were amazing, light weight, durable, and when soaked they dry pretty fast.
