Rocky S2V Vented Military Duty Boot is rated 3.85 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost the best... Very comfortable light weight boots. The only problem that I think is a MAJOR flaw in the design of these boots is right at the Achilles tendon. There is a seam right there that is a bit thick. In one day it blistered that up pretty bad. I'm sure that eventually the skin there will calluse up but still a huge design flaw. That's definitely not an area you want to fight a calluse. I am trying to find a way to fix mine so there is not that seam rubbing all the time. Rocky if you have any suggestions PLEASE let me know. I do love these boots but that one part is killing my feet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Government (GSA) contract equals subpar product I was issued these boots for deployment in Afghanistan. After doing nothing but walking around the FOB (on gravel, mud, dirt terrain) for 5 months in these the seams (NOT high wear area) have split and come apart with no abrasion to them on the upper and the lacing eyelets have rubbed and cut through 3 pairs of laces on the right boots. Glad I didn't have to pay for these...they squeek loud enough to remind me of that every step I take with these boots on. Lucky for my I was issued two pairs of boots, and the others of a different brand have held up perfect for all my outside the wire missions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pair of Boots I bought this pair of boots just recently. I haven't taken it through any major tests yet or any hard ruck marches but overall this boot feels fantastic on the feet. Break-in wasn't hard at all and afterwards they feel like sneakers. I can't wait to take these boots through some real tests but so far they have been wonderful. I have already noticed less foot pain and they seem to hold up well in wet cold conditions. Great boots!! Size was perfect using the size from my Brooks running shoes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tuff I bought a pair before doing an overseas tour. Within a month, the padding on the inside of the heel broke free and bunched up behind my heal. At this point, I was already deployed. I ended up cutting the wad of loose padding out. After that the boots sat pretty well. The fit was true. The boot is heavier, similar to the weight of the issue boots. The material held up well for the year that I wore them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Squeaky Bought these 8 months ago, at the five month mark they started to squeak, loudly. Other than that they performed average. So save your receipt, if you wish to get them warranty repair. I did not, and have learned a $200 lesson.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inconsistent manufacturing I order these a couple of weeks ago for my deployment to Afghanistan. The right boot fits great but the left digs into the back of my heal so bad that it renders the boots unwearable. I was expecting so much more from a pair of boots that cost upwards of $200 and with the reputation that this company has. I hope that my experience is a one off and not the experience of most customers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great boots but the heel seam must be cut I really do love these boots. They are very comfortable, and they offer a lot of stability to my ankle (which is really needed due to previous injuries). However, these boots have one major flaw. There is a place on the heel (achilles tendon area) where two perpendicular seems meet. This creates a large, protruding, sharp bit of seam that will chew your skin up! I had huge blisters for weeks due to this problem. I kept thinking that the boots just needed to be worn in, but the seam will never wear in. When I figured out the problem, I fixed it with a very simple solution. I cut the boot and seam out on the inside where it was rubbing. This immediate fixed the comfort issue, and ever since, these have been some of the most comfortable boots that I've ever owned. I've had them for over a year now, and the place where I cut that seam out is still doing just fine. The lining came apart there a minor bit, but it does not affect the wear or comfort at all. I really do recommend these boots, but for $200 Rocky really needs to fix this problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots! I have had my pair of Rocky's for over 1 year and they have been fantastic. Unfortunately due to the new AR 670-1 we are no longer allowed to wear these boots. The reasoning is because the bottom of the boot has bumps on it and it isn't a smooth surface. The other reason is that the top of the sole comes slightly over the top toe. I am really hoping that one day you can keep this boot the same, yet change a few of the designs, so that it all stays within regulations. This is the only boot that keeps me from having a sore back after working all day.
